It has never been easier to create new platforms and share multimedia for any purpose. At the same time, groups like Indigenous Groups are at risk of having the younger generations leave their roots behind and embrace a more digital lifestyle. Oral histories and storytelling traditions can be lost, and this loss is exacerbated by the passing of family members or tribes and people.
Currently, there is no easily accessible way for people to upload and share their stories. There is therefore a strong desire to preserve culture and stories, a desire confirmed by contacts who are connected or directly involved with these tribes. This means we now have the right technology along with a strong user base to start sharing.
This project, Archio, aims to digitize the world’s stories by providing a singular platform that will allow users to create, post and document stories in common forms of media such as video, audio, and text.
